At the Stronger Smarter Summit, Minister Julia Gillard announced a new Indigenous Education Action Plan. In addition, the Australian Government has committed $16.4 million to the Stronger Smarter Learning Communities project. The project, to be led by Chris Sara, will help ensure that school leaders across Australia are supported and challenged in ways that will help them turn outcomes around for Indigenous students.
