The first national strategy to provide a long term road map for improving the lives of Australians with disability, their families and carers has been endorsed by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG). The Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, Jenny Macklin, said: "The National Disability Strategy will help us create better services, programs and community infrastructure so that people with disability have access to a quality education, to health care, support to get a job and to access buildings, transport and media."
